Technology is a very broad concept to understand. 

Definition and meaning of Technology: 

The word technology comes from two Greek words, transliterated techne and logos. Techne means art, skill, craft, or the way, manner, or means by which a thing is gained. Logos means word, the utterance by which inward thought is expressed, a saying, or an expression. 

the scientific knowledge and/or equipment that is needed for a particular industry, etc. 

In Hindi we can say, 

विशिष्‍ट उद्योग आदि के लिए अपेक्षित वैज्ञानिक जानकारी और/या उपकरण; प्रौद्योगिकी/शिल्‍पविज्ञान और/या तकनीकी उपकरण 

 

So, now let's know about types of technology: 

There are seven types of technology. 

  • Artificial Intelligence.
  • Information Technology. 
  • Space Technology. 
  • 4. Entertainment Technology.
  • Medical Technology.
  • Operational Technology. 
  • Assistive Technology. 
  • Communication Technology.

What is the importance of technology? 

Since machines are way faster than humans, certain tasks that may require an incredible amount of manual work and attention to detail can be easily accomplished with the help of technology. Technology also ensures improved accuracy. Further, the use of technology in certain areas can also help save significant costs. 

What are the 4 ages of technology? 

There are 4 main eras in the history of IT: 

  • The Premechanical Age: 3000 BC and 1450 AD. 
  • The Mechanical Age: 1450 – 1840. 
  • The Electromechanical Age: 1840 - 1940. 
  • The Electronic Age: 1940 - Present. 
Common Advantages of technology: 
  • It facilitates mobility. ... 
  • It encourages creativity and innovation. ... 
  • It improves communication. ... 
  • It improves management of human resources. ... 
  • It saves time. ... 
  • It affects relationships at work. ... 
  • It can lead to a lack of mentorship. ... 
  • It can cause distractions at work. 

Common disadvantages of technology: 

  • Data Security. 
  • Crime and Terrorism. 
  • Complexity. 
  • Privacy Concerns. 
  • Social Disconnect. 
  • Work Overload. 
  • Digital Media Manipulation. 
  • Job Insecurity. 

Common examples of technology: 

  • Television. 
  • Internet.  
  • Cell phones.  
  • Computers.  
  • Circuitry. 
  • Artificial intelligence.  
  • Software.  
  • Audio and visual technology. 

So, Technology is a vast concept and recent time is the era of technology!!!!
